How to use a car wash foam gun

Connect to a standard garden hose and fill the reservoir with concentrate.

Set the dial for your preferred foam density and coat top to bottom.

Let it dwell, release the handle, and rinse clean.

A foam gun runs off a garden hose, so there's nothing else to buy — it's the quickest way to foam a car at home. A foam cannon runs off a pressure washer and makes an even thicker snow foam that clings for longer. Already own a pressure washer? Our foam cannon is the better fit.

Car wash foam gun FAQs

Are foam guns good for washing cars? Yes. The foam loosens grit and road film before you touch the paint, so you scrub less and cut the risk of swirl marks. It won't replace a contact wash on a very dirty car, but it makes every wash quicker and safer.

Do I need a pressure washer? No. This foam gun screws straight onto a standard garden hose — no pressure washer, compressor or adapters.

Should I wet the car before foaming? If the car, 4WD or boat is caked in mud or salt, rinse the loose grit off first. Then foam top to bottom, let it dwell for a minute or two out of direct sun, and rinse clean.

Can I use regular car wash soap in a foam gun? Yes, most car wash soaps will foam. A concentrate made for foaming gives thicker suds — our wash and wax concentrate also leaves a layer of wax behind as you wash.

Will it fit my garden hose? Yes. It connects to any standard garden hose with the brass quick-release fittings.

How many washes does a litre of concentrate do? At a 10:1 dilution, one litre of Saltworx concentrate covers up to 10 full washes.
